·BACHELORS DEGREE PREFERRED
· The Executive Director will lead, direct and manage the clinical oncology service line for the Washington Cancer Institute(WCI) and will serve as the primary executive between Washington Hospital Center (WHC), WCI and MedStar Health. Individual will provide leadership, direction and operational management to the WCI clinical services in accordance with the mission, policies and philosophy of WHC. The Executive Director, Oncology Services will ensure accountability for operational, strategic and financial objectives of the oncology service line. The Executive Director will identify programs, services and associated competencies required to build and expand oncology programs and services of Washington Hospital Center and the Washington Cancer Institute. Individual is responsible for the effective and efficient use of available human, fiscal and clinical resources to maintain high standards of patient-focused cancer care, and the development and growth of managers and staff within the service line.
EDUCATION : Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or equivalent is required. Masters Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Seven to ten years of progressive management experience in the healthcare field, with background and experience in oncology required. General administration, statistics, human resource management, planning, organization, communications, managed care, and physician relations courses. Ability to be both a leader and a team player; participative management style; strong interpersonal skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop and implement new programs and services, as well as managing existing ones; demonstrated understanding of changing healthcare environment; computer literate; and entrepreneurial.
